Psalm 133- Oprah Winfrey Essence Portrait

Psalm 133 (KJV)

  1. A Song of Ascents; of David.
    Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
  2. It is like the precious oil upon the head,
    coming down upon the beard; even Aaron’s beard,
    that cometh down upon the collar of his garments;
  3. Like the dew of Hermon, that cometh down upon the mountains of Zion ; for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for ever.

Psalm 133 was chosen for the strokes for a basic Oprah Winfrey Essence Portrait due to the outstanding role Ms. Winfrey has played fostering tolerance for peoples of all peoples despite differences of race, culture, sex, religion and age.

On her show Oprah interviews people whose views she clearly does not share, but she remains fair and gives others an opportunity to have their say. On Oprah’s web site (http://oprah.com) I was amazed to find less tolerant people openly attacking Oprah for either not full sharing their religious beliefs or for not fully promoting a one sided “dialogue”. The views and messages of these less tolerant people are allowed.

I have personally seen guests from all races, most every country that will allow citizens to travel or Skype to the USA where the show is produced, all major and many less well known religions. Oprah has helped us all meet, get to know and understand and even like people who are much different. When we hear their stories, challenges and problems we realize how very much alike we really are.

By helping her audiences meet, understand and even come to like people who are far different from us Oprah builds tolerance and understanding. Tolerance is hand in glove with freedom. This also creates more peaceful relationships.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” For a little less than an hour, each weekday, plus through Harpo’s other media opportunities, we dwell as brethren with Oprah.
