anksy is on the verge of completing a self-proclaimed artist residency in New York City, in which, every day he has added (donated) a work of art to the city and its people in some way, during October, 2013. Banksy has placed himself and his art in the city at the anniversary of Super Storm Sandy. Many of the works that he had presented during his residency have appeared in areas hit hardest by the storm, although this is neither stated by Banksy or commented upon in the press.
Art Dealers Association has stepped up to help art dealers (both members and non-members) and related enterprises aid from their losses due to hurricane Sandy. This relief is in the form of monetary grants, assistance from art related individuals, such as attorneys and conservators, panel discussions to address urgently needed information and a website page that is chock full of resources that can also offer assistance and information.
The 2011 VIP Art Fair was the first major art fair to be held on the web. It will be remembered in the history of art as the first time that highly valued primary market Contemporary Art was openly sold via the Internet by internationally renowned art galleries.
